Our goal

The ORGANIKA association was established in 2013 by the leading companies in the sector of Non-Wood Forest Products (NWFPs) and Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (MAPs). The purpose of the association is to improve cooperation among stakeholders in this sector and further develop the sector by promoting Kosovo products in foreign export markets, and also through lobbying activities. Moreover, the ORGANIKA association aims to support all its members in becoming certified with organic standards within the next 5-7 years, and achieve that certified organic products become the majority of exports.

Our vision

The development of the NWFP and MAP sector through sustainable use of NWFPs, the promotion of MAP cultivation, and increasing collection, processing and exporting capacities.

Donors and development projects

ORGANIKA, which currently has 32 members, has been supported by donors and development projects in the recent years:

  • The USAID AGRO (Agricultural Development and Rural Opportunities) program has supported the association in strengthening and developing it into a self-sustainable entity, in serving its members (companies) through creating partnerships with the government for future strategies. USAID assistance was provided in establishing an office for ORGANIKA and partial compensation of staff. USAID also supported the association and its companies in attending various international fairs and sales missions.
  • The GiZ project CETEP (Creating Employment Through Export Promotion) has supported the association’s activities in training stakeholders about the organic MAP cultivation sector and printing brochures about organic MAP cultivation in Kosovo.
  • The Swiss Contact project PPSE (Promoting Private Sector Employment) has collaborated with the ORGANIKA association supporting the work in the organic certification of its members. As a result, 17 members were certified in 2017, and 25 members in 2018.
